MDC Paper — Introduction to General Psychology
Course Outcomes: After the completion of the course:
- The students will have the ability to understand what Psychology is all about.
- The students will understand the scope and field of Psychology.
- The students will develop familiarity with basic concepts related to some foundational themes of study in Psychology, such as learning, memory, perception, forgetting, and human sensory processes.

- Methods of Psychology — Observation, Experimental, and Interview methods
Unit 2: Sensory and Perceptual Processes:
- Structure and function of the eye and ear
- Perception: Concept and process, Views on perception: Behavioristic and Gestalt, Perceptual organization
Unit 3: Learning:
- Nature and Definitions of Learning
- Role of Motivation in Learning
- Theories of Learning — Thorndike’s Trial and Error Theory, Kohler and Koffka’s Insight Theory, Pavlov’s Conditioning Theory
